Kenosha, Wisconsin (September 12, 2019) – Kenall's TekLink TL2000PS Parking Suite extends the TekLink family of control systems by introducing the industry’s only image sensor integrated directly into the luminaire. These sensors provide car counting technology to parking facilities, helping to maximize operational efficiency and profitability. TekLink TL2000PS is currently available in Kenall’s best-selling TekDek TD17 and SenScape SPG18 parking luminaires.
“By embedding cameras into strategically-located light fixtures, Kenall’s parking garage light fixtures using TL2000PS can provide car counting data to parking facilities' message boards as a vehicle enters the garage, moves between parking levels and exits the structure. With count accuracy over 99%, this feature greatly improves the customer experience by minimizing the time spent looking for an open space. Knowing the parking structure’s use history also helps operators set pricing strategies and plan staffing and maintenance schedules,” said Joe Welch, Controls Product Manager at Kenall.
Welch continued, “This product is completely unique to the market and opens a host of possibilities for parking operators, who can now not only manage lighting to save energy and promote safety, but also maximize the profitability of the structure by creating pricing programs based on usage. By adding camera-based features into the TekLink 2000PS, facility owners save significantly over the cost of adding these systems individually.” Welch is excited about this next step in Kenall controls technology and for future enhancements: “We are just beginning to scratch the surface of how lighting can offer services beyond illumination, and Kenall is at the forefront of developing technologies to create maximum value for parking garage owners.”
