Kenosha, Wisconsin (October 6, 2026) – Kenall Lighting has expanded its redesigned Mighty Mac family with updated SSA and SDSA surface-mount correctional luminaires. Building on the recent redesign of the RMCA and RMCD recessed series, the new SSA and SDSA deliver improved efficiency, visual performance, and installation flexibility while maintaining the proven strength and security that define the Mighty Mac platform.
The redesigned luminaires feature a slimmer profile and lighter-weight construction, offering greater flexibility in constrained spaces while maintaining the durability required for demanding correctional environments. Improved optics provide more uniform lens luminance, helping reduce glare and enhance visual comfort, while 90 CRI color rendering is now standard for improved visibility and detail recognition. Optional tunable white technology is also available to support staff alertness and inmate well-being.
While the design has evolved, the core strengths of the Mighty Mac family remain unchanged. The SSA and SDSA continue to provide the security-focused construction correctional facilities depend on, including rugged housings engineered for demanding environments and ligature-resistant design features developed specifically for correctional applications.
By combining a slimmer profile, reduced weight, improved optical performance, optional tunable white technology, and the trusted durability of the Mighty Mac platform, the redesigned SSA and SDSA provide correctional facilities with a modern surface-mount lighting solution built for today's operational and installation needs.
